YOUR ENGAGED PRESENCE IS INVITED FOR AN EVENING OF DIALOGUE AND CREATIVE EXPLORATION AROUND THE CONFLICT IN ISRAEL AND PALESTINE – AND OUR CAPACITY TO IMAGINE NEW WAYS OF BEING.

The conflict in Israel and Palestine is so long-standing and seems so intransigent that the phrase “peace in the Middle East” has become another way of saying “it will never happen” or dismissing something as a utopian fantasy.

And yet… there are utopians on both sides of the Israel-Palestine conflict, and elsewhere, working in creative and practical ways to co-create peace for and by the people of the Holy Land and beyond.

Sami Awad and Ben Yeger are two of these voices speaking – and actively working, in support of the elusive dream of peace. They will share their stories and feed their experience into an evening of collective enquiry into how we can all humanise the enemy and envision real change.

Christian de Sousa will present an audio-visual & spoken word postcard from the Holy Land, exploring its chequered history and its relevance to the wider world context. There will be discussion and an invitation to write your own postcard on situations – in the Middle East, or elsewhere in the world, that concern you and call you to engage.

And… there will be dancing – to help us bring embodied movement and celebration to our engagement. This is an invitation to look beyond 1/2-state debates and 1/2-dimensional political dead-ends, to join some of the dots between the search for personal peace and the project of world peace.

Come and be part of a collective exploration with a gathered community; to ask ourselves some searching questions about the narrative in Israel/Palestine and how we can become agents for the telling of a new story.

ALL WELCOME.
